Hello - I upgraded to 9.8.9, and it appears that I lost my portfolio. I go to file/open, and see one 'backup' file named sample portfolio_backup_20101207, but it's not the portfolio I was expecting.

Were other portfolio's kept somewhere else during the upgrade? If not, I'm sure I have a backup that I can get it off of, but I'm hoping it's on my laptop somewhere. Thanks.

Mine is under the C:\Program Files\PSS]my portfolio name.

You went one level too far for this backup. You will see everything else you wanted backed up in the Backup folder and not in the main PSS folder.

Hope this helps.

@stoman23, Your file isn't automatically loaded on startup? You don't see it listed at the bottom of the File menu?

esf38 and Anatoly, thanks for the replies. I see the backup folder at Program Files\PSS\Backup, but I don't see any portfolio files in it.

It looks like the 3 portfolio files I have now are at User\My Documents\My Portfolios, named Dow30, Sample Portfolio, Sample Portfolio Backup_20101207.

I wasn't really paying attention during the upgrade, and I know it asked some questions about what to do with current portfolio, so I suspect I picked a wrong option.

I only see those three files listed at the bottom of the file menu.

I'm pretty sure I can get my portfolio file from a recent backup. I'll go that route.

Thanks for the help guys!

Sorry it didnt' help, but the files over in My Documents are okay, but they should have all of them there or you should have a list of files when you open the File Menu and see the list of last files you opened. This is in the program itself.

IU see no way you can lose the original and have to go to a back-up, but aren't we glad we make them? :-))

Good luck, Ellen
