Ameritrade has implemented a conditional order feature that I find extremely valuable. The way I use it is to (for example) place a short sell order with a conditional buy-to-cover having a trailing stop of x%. What this means is that the buy-to-cover is never executed unless the parent order has completed. I use the inverse for a vanilla buy order, with the conditional being a sell with a trailing stop of x%.

One of the benefits is that I can place the parent order as a market stop, so that if short selling, for instance, the order will not be executed until the price has dropped below the stop threshhold. This means that I can place the entire order and have it execute automatically at the right time, without me having to watch it constantly. And then, once the parent executes the conditional executes as well.

This is the only way that I trade now, but I am forced to trade manually since conditional orders are not implemented in PSS.

Yes, but since it would require fairly extensive changes to several program components, I can't say when it would be available.
