Would it be possible to have a Dividend and Yield in the Totals line? It seems to me that it is an easy addition and would give a total snapshot for a particular portfolio.

Thanks,

Ellen

Are you referring to the Transaction Register tab? Sure, we can probably add that at some point.

In the mean time, you can get the total dividend for a given period using the extended capital gains report which is available as an installable extension from the Tools->Extensions Menu.

Select "Get More Extensions"

Check check the box next to "Capital Gains Report".

Then click install. It'll prompt you to restart the software. After that you'll have the Capital Gains Report (extended) available on the reports tab.

I am talking about the Totals line at the bottom of the transactions. We have all of the columns we want totaled at the bottom, except for Dvidends and Yields. There seems to be no reason ot see exactly how much money a portfolio makes in dividen cash flow as well as the total yield of a portfolio.

I hope this is clearer than my first request.

Thanks,

Ellen

This is not intent, but I did this anyhow and after clicking to install it, it took me to My Documents. There was no file name or extension there. What am I supposed to do after checing install when nothing comes up to install?

Capital Gains are not the same as dividends.

You mean in the Current Holdings? The Dividend and Yield columns in the Active Securities/Current Holdings tabs are what is reported by the quote service, not what you actually record, so it doesn't make sense to total them. For a couple of reasons, those are not necessarily the same as what you actually receive at the time the dividend is issued.

For the Transaction Register, I forgot that we don't have Dividend and Yield columns, so there is nothing to total there. The total of actual paid dividends is that you recorded as transactions is shown in the extended capital gains report.

The Install button only installs local extensions from your hard drive. As Yermo mentioned, please use the Get More Extensions button to get it, and it is installed automatically. After installing, you must restart Personal Stock Monitor for it to be available in your list of reports.

This is exactly what I mean. At the bottom of the Transactions register it would be nice ot have the totals line contain these figures as dollars and total yield.

Thanks

When I click on Add More Extensions, I get taken to the My Documents folder and there is no list of a file name to install. Nothing is in the Extension button to install. It shows me the My Documents folder and has nothing in the lines to install.

I hope I am explaining this clearly. There is no installation to perform.
