Since I am a new user of PSS and don't quite fully understand the relationships between different Account Tabs, Hierarchy of Folders, Symbols and their subsequent effect on the Brokerage Cash Balance and Transaction Register, I am requesting recommendations from experienced users relative to their recommended approach to organization within PSS.

This will be a "Live Brokerage Account" used for active trading. I am open to any recommendations that meet the following requirements.

1. The "Cash Balance" must reflect actual changes as they occur.

2. Some logical order of organizing symbols (currently I am organizing symbols according to their respective Sector Groups, however, this is not set in concrete). I am willing to review any type of organization that follows some logical order, is functional, and meets the requirments of Number 1 above.

Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Charles

Are you the Charles I chatted with yesterday in CollabInvest?

In summary what I would suggest is:

. create two "accounts". One for your watchlist and research. One for trading. Associate the trading account with your brokerage account. (Each tab may only be associated with a single brokerage account.)

. Set up your folders and the tickers you would like to track in your watchlist account.

. Now you can use the watchlist account like a "scratchpad". Add tickers, delete them, reorganize them. So you end up using it like a mini screener.

. Once you decide you want to purchase a security, right click the security and copy it to your trading account. Switch to the trading account, Active Securities tab, right click on the ticker and select trade.

. I would suggest not organizing tickers into folders in your trading account.

If you have any further questions post them here. If you'd like to chat we can set up a time to meet in the developers chat room in CollabInvest. (I confess because of the workload I haven't been spending as much time in there as I should).

Yes, I am the same Charles that you chatted with on CollabInvest. I posted this query prior to that Chat session.

If anyone using PSS has not used CollabInvest, I highly recommend that you use it as soon as possible. I read the Personal Stock Streamer User's Manual 3 times and struggled for days trying to understand the relationships between Accounts, Folders, and Symbols and nothing appeared to work properly.

After a few minutes on CollabInvest chatting with Yermo, there relationships became crystal clear and I immediatley began visualizing the possibilities of extending Personal Stock Streamer as a Trading and Research tool.

Thanks for your assistance and for adding CollabInvest as a feature in Personal Stock Streamer.
