It would be nice to be able to load (or import) stock symbols from a plain text file directly into PSS.

This would also be compatible with the method used by StrategyDesk for loading stock symbols, for those that use TD AmeriTrade as their Brokerage.

You can import symbols from a CSV file which is a comma delimited, plain text file. See File->Import.

Thanks Yermo, I must have missed that. I did some experimenting after your reply.

1. Using any program that can save as a text file, i.e., WordPad, NotePad, DOS Text Editor, etc.. make a list of stock symbols such as Standard & Poors Five Star Recommended Stocks and save three instances of the file with *.TXT, *.SYM, and *.CSV.

2. The *.SYM file can be loaded into TD Ameritrade's StrategyDesk and used for trading.

3. The *.CSV file can be imported into PSS and used for trading.

4. The *.TXT file can easily be used to exchange data with just about any program i.e., Data Bases, Word Processors, eMail programs, just about all of the Microsoft Office Suite and the Word Perfect Suite.

5. In order to be compatible the only thing that needs to change is the "File Name Extension".
